CISA acting director reportedly uploaded sensitive material to ChatGPT
Ars Technica reported that the acting director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Madhu Gottumukkala, uploaded sensitive contracting documents to a public version of ChatGPT last year. According to reporting citing Department of Homeland Security officials, the uploads triggered internal cybersecurity safeguards designed to prevent unauthorized disclosure of government information. The material was reportedly marked “for official use only,” and an internal review was initiated to assess the incident.
